The context · March 2025
NVIDIA announced Isaac GR00T N1 in March 2025, alongside simulation work intended to support the development of humanoid robots. [1]
A proposed project brief inspired by the period’s developments. This is an idea for exploration, not an announced Sansa product, an approved roadmap or a claim of completed client work.
Define the scene
Choose one family of objects and document the conditions under which they must be detected. Include awkward orientations, partial occlusion and examples outside the intended scope. Agree which attributes annotators can determine from the images and which require additional evidence.
Build a useful reference set
Create annotation guidance, independently review a sample and resolve disagreements before scaling collection. Keep a held-out set from different capture sessions. Evaluate performance by condition rather than reporting only an average that hides difficult scenes.
Make the next decision smaller
The proposed deliverable is a reviewed dataset, an error analysis and a recommendation for a controlled perception trial. It does not include autonomous operation in an occupied workplace. Hardware integration, protective measures and a separate operational assessment would need their own scope and owners.
