Design for a person in the field
Let a technician dictate a short observation and receive a structured draft containing the location, equipment reference and reported issue. Keep recording visibly under the user’s control. The draft should remain local to the review step until the technician chooses to submit it.
Make uncertainty easy to repair
Test equipment names, abbreviations and noisy environments using authorised recordings. Highlight missing details and provide direct editing. Preserve the distinction between an observed fault and a suggested explanation so a speculative statement does not become a confirmed diagnosis.
Decide from the complete interaction
The prototype would compare voice entry with the existing note-taking process. Record correction effort, missing information and successful submission. A production proposal would also need agreed handling of recordings, offline behaviour and access to the destination system. This remains a project concept, not an announced Sansa product.
